Poor Black Stars share spoils with Gabon- Match Report

Unconvincing run of play from the Black Stars throughout the entire duration saw them share spoils with the Gabonese national team as Jim Hallevinah’s 88′ minutes strike ensured the heart of Ghanaians were ever broken at a time where they would have thought were ending the game with a slim victory once gotten the lead from Andre Ayew’s sumptuous finish on the 16’minutes.

Assist from Thomas Partey from the middle of the pitch looked enough for the captain to have turned beautifully before gotten the whole stadium erupt. In a din- don battle where the Gabonese at times dominated play yet difficult finding the back of the net, it was Alexander Djiku together with Daniel Amartey who were called for clearance on a couple of occasions especially in the early stages of the game.

Nonetheless, first half ending 1-0 infavor of Ghana, the Stars failed to add to their lead in the second half despite an improved game given the Gabon team defending gallantly, no wonder hard won tackles from their captain attracted bookings from the center man as of the 64’minutes.

As toothless as the stars were upfront, there was a little threat infront of goal. However,in the end, Gabon pounced on their failure to add up as they finally got their fair share of the deal with a curling ball from the feet of Jim Hallevinah which was soo easy, soo cool to get past goalkeeper JoJo Wallocot perhaps rewriting scoreline as 1-1 amidst final whistle.

Frustrations from the Ghanaian bench was clear when Benjamin Tetteh who only came on as a substitute on the 90th minute mark got a red for a violent misconduct eventually when game had come to a closure.

Too late, too little for Abdul Fatawu Issahaku with Joseph Paintsil as the time of their inclusion given 90 plus of additional minute where Jordan Ayew and Baba Iddrisu were both sacrificed, but proved frutile leading the game end in a one all parity.

Draw for Patrice Neveu’s side get them to the second spot on four points trailing leaders Morroco by two, apparently leaving the Ghanaian team on the third spot with just a point going into their final game.

Meanwhile, captain Andre was adjuged man of the match.
