Ex-Ghana international Yaw Preko says Black Stars need to make amends for the 2021 AFCON disappointment by beating Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this month.
Ghana exited this year’s AFCON at the group stage after failing to win a single game in the group stage.
The Black Stars will host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 before travelling to Abuja for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on March 29, 2022
The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar.
“Ghana is really disappointed in them so they need to make amends and this is the game to do that. Fortunately, unfortunately, it’s going to be against Nigeria.
When you’re able to kick Nigeria out, the support will come again and everybody will be on our side,” Preko said
“It’s not going to be easy for the boys. Playing against Nigeria, they can do you or you can do them- it goes both ways.
I remember my first game for the Black Stars was against Nigeria way back in 1991 against the likes of Stephen Keshie, Eguavoen, and the rest. I took it like ‘this is my first match. Come on, go in and do your thing.”
