Ghanaian Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will pocket 50,000 Ghana cedis each for accepting to play this year’s President Cup.
The President Cup played in honor of the sitting Ghanaian president every year, will come off on March 4, 2022, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), organizers of the match, announced on Tuesday that both teams will share 100,000 Ghana cedis and 25% each of gate proceeds.
“Football is all about Business and at the same time to bring us together. So, the two clubs will take an appearance fee of 50,000 cedis each and then the gate proceeds will be shared,” GHALCA boss Kudjoe Finaoo told reporters.
“Ghalca as an Organizers will take 50% and the two clubs will share will take 25% each of the remaining 50%. There will be a trophy and other medals.”
Kotoko was champion the last time both sides met in the President’s Cup in 2019.
Kotoko has won the trophy on six occasions, two more than Hearts of Oak.
