The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has expressed confidence in the Black Stars ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali.
The Black Stars touched down in Bamako on Tuesday night ahead of the third round 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, as they chase their first win in 2024.
The team is looking to bounce back from the Comoros defeat that has left them fourth in Group I with three points from two games.
Speaking to the team after one of their training sessions in Ghana, Kurt said, “I hope that we’ll go to Mali with all the confidence that we have, with all the quality that I know we have, and go and put up a good performance that will give us the desired results. This is possible.
“Then, after that, we’ll come back to our favourite, Marseille, and God willing, finish off the other game. On behalf of the FA, on behalf of Ghanaians, I wish all of us well.”
Ghana will return after the game to host Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on June 10.
The team is aiming to qualify for their fifth World Cup appearance in USA, Mexico and Canada.
