Abdul Karim Zito appointed head coach of Black Starlets

Former Asante Kotoko fullback Abdul Karim Zito has been appointment as head coach for the National U17 team.

 

Zito led the National U20 team to glory at the African Cup of Nations in 2021 and has been appointed as head coach alongside former Blackstars player Laryea Kingston and Jacob Nettey for the starlets.

 

Also, he has coaching history in the Ghana Premier League after having Spells with Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, King Faisal and formerly of Dreams Fc.

 

Laryea Kingson featured in the 2006 and 2008 AFCON and has won in 42 appearances for the Blackstars. His experience and knowledge of the game will be absolutely crucial for this technical team.

 

Jacob Nettey however is former captain of the Accra Hearts of Oak who speer headed their CAF Champions League in 2000. His wining mentality and experience will play a huge role for this upcoming WAFU B Cup of Nations and the U17 African Cup of Nations.

 

According to the GFA, “The new technical team has been tasked to assemble a formidable squad for the next edition of the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations and the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations”.
