Aben sokooo: Mohammed Salisu issues readiness to play for Ghana

Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has issued his readiness to finally play for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar according to Joysports.

According to reports, sources close to the player have told Joy Sports that his meetings with the Ghana football association president, Mr Kurt Okraku played a key role in finalising his decision to play for Ghana.

The 23-year-old who has been on the radar of the Ghana football association for some years in a bid to lure him to play for Ghana has finally shown a sign to commit to the West African giants.

The Southampton centre back has held talks with coaches of the Black stars since 2019, from Kwasi Appiah, Charles Kwablah Akonnor, Milovan Rajevac and new head coach Otto Addo.

The 23year old had an impressive debut season (2021/22) with Southampton, featuring in 37 games with a goal and also ranked 3rd for the most tackles (196) in the English premier league.

Salifu’s inclusion in the Black stars will be a major boost for Coach Oto Addo as he seeks to bolster his defensive department ahead of the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
