Accra Hearts of Oak moved top of the Ghana Premier League with a 2-0 win over Young Apostles as the competition resumed on Saturday.
New signing Michael Awuah Mensah opened the scoring with a powerful header from Hussein Mohammed’s corner kick on the cusp of half time.
Hearts doubled their advantage in the second half when Hamza Issah’s header deflected off Abdul Rahman Rurf just after the restart.
Hearts are now top of the league with 36 points, ahead of Gold Stars (34) and Asante Kotoko (34) who both play Nations FC and Legon Cities respectively on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak have been charged with a breach of Article 8(e) of the GFA Enhanced matchday safety and security protocols, 2025.
