A well-deserved victory for Accra Hearts of Oak to pick up their first win of the Ghana Premier League week five fixture thrashing Dreams FC 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Phobians under new gaffer Kosta Papic brought back the Phobian spirit in his first game.
In-form forward Kojo Obeng Junior fired home the opener before Michelle Sarpong scored twice to end their three games winless run.
Two changes were made to the team that drew with Karela United last weekend, Obeng Junior replaced Abednego with Nurudeen Abdul sitting in for injured Emmanuel Nettey.
The Phobians started on a good note with the first chance going to Michelle Sarpong who missed narrowly before Dantani Amadu of Dreams shit the side of the net with a decent strike minutes on.
Fast forward, the deadlock was broken on the 38th minute when Patrick Razak with his pace fed on a counter to find Obeng who made no mistake to fire home the opener and register his third of the campaign.
Minutes later, Issah Ibrahim came close to draw level for Dreams but his header went wide.
Hearts of Oak made an early substitution as Manaf Umar came on injured Ansah Botchway with 15 minutes to end the first half as the Phobians went into the break leading by a lone goal.
Back from recess saw a more hungrier Hearts side eager to double the lead, three minutes later, Michelle Sarpong made it two to deepen the woes of the away team.
Matters became worse for ‘The Still Lads’ who conceeded the third goal after Michelle Sarpong headed home from close range with a minute to end proceedings.
Hearts will look forward to make it two straight wins when they square off with struggling Aduana on Wednesday in their outstanding fixture.
