AFCON 2025Q: Stars to fly with 22 players for Angola test, one player to join in Luanda

The Black Stars will depart Ghana at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, for Luanda, ahead of Friday’s Group F African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to lead a team of twenty-three players after fifteen players arrived in camp on Tuesday, adding up to Monday’s eight.

On Monday, the team trained with eight players – Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, Emmanuel Antwi, Gideon Mensah, Kudus Mohammed, Elisha Owusu, Joseph Wollacott, and Osman Bukari.

Fourteen more – Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf, Terry Yegbe, Jordan Ayew, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdoffer, Kingsley Schindler, Ibrahim Sulemana, Michael Baidoo, Nathaniel Adjei Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Alidu Seidu, Ernest Nuamah, Forson Amankwah, Francis Abu and Ebenezer Annan, joined Tuesday’s training at the Accra Sports Stadium.

OFK Beograd left Ebenezer Annan will join the team in Luanda after the Ghana Football Association changed his flight details to avoid the risk of jetlag.

He would have otherwise flown to Accra for just a day, before flying to Luanda with the team.

The Black Stars are third in Group F, with just two points from four matches, leaving their AFCON qualification hopes in jeopardy.

To qualify, Ghana needs to win against Angola and Niger, and hope that
Sudan, who play Niger on Thursday, lose their remaining matches.

Angola have already secured qualification for the Morocco tournament, leading the group with a perfect record of 12 points.
