Nine Liberian referees have been presented FIFA badges for 2022.
The Liberian match officials include five central referees and four assistant referees.
The referees were on January 8, 2022 given their badges at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
Assistant referees Hannah Moses is the youngest of the nine match officials.
Ms. Moses is one of the youngest Liberian referees and is a Class ‘A’ referee in Liberia who has so much passion for the game and wants to be at the highest level of football.
Brief History of Assistant Referee Hannah Moses
Hannah L. Moses started her referee profession in 2019 and has since gone on to officiate several matches in the first division, second division, women’s league as well as Montserrado Third division league.
Moses first steps onto the football league ladder came in 2019 as an assistant referee and has since been very impressive running down the line.
Based on her performances as one of the country’s fastest growing female Assistant Referees, Moses was promoted in 2021 from “Class B” to “A”.
Since her promotion, the 23-year-old assistant referee has consistently officiated in several high profile matches in both men’s and women’s divisions of the Liberian league.
Moses however, is among the 9 Liberian FIFA badge referees that were accepted by FIFA.
She has become Liberia’s youngest international referee, overtaking Joe W. Doe and now has a bigger task on the international stage.
Young Hannah told FrontPageAfrica that her rise in the profession is all about hard work she has put in.
“I am grateful the Liberia Football Referee Association for the impacting knowledge in me, I have work hard to be where I am today.
“My target is to be at the Nations Cup and I will work towards that. I feel this is just the beginning of more to come,” she said.
According to her, she will always keep fit and continue reading more on football laws of the game so that her decision on the field will be right.
FIFA Referees Committee is one of seven standing committees responsible implement and interpret the Laws of the Game and to also appoint the referees and assistant referees for matches in competitions organized by FIFA.
