Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori is ready on the next phase of his career after signing with South African Premier Soccer League side AmaZulu Football Club as confirmed by soccanews.com
The seasoned shot-stopper, who recently agreed to terms with the club, has bid farewell to Orlando Pirates, where he has spent the last four years.
In a heartfelt statement, Ofori expressed that the timing feels right for him to move on and start a new journey in his football career. Reflecting on his time with Orlando Pirates, he acknowledged the growth, challenges, and successes that have shaped his path.
“The past couple of years have been years of grace and power. I couldn’t have been happier, more robust, focused, and motivated than in a place I’ve called home. Being part of Orlando Pirates brought new challenges, joy, huddles, and energy. The time has now come for me to open a new chapter in my career,” Ofori wrote, marking his decision to transition to AmaZulu.
In an emotional post on Instagram, the goalkeeper expressed deep gratitude to everyone at Orlando Pirates, emphasising that he leaves the club with fond memories of his time there.
“I want to thank the entire Orlando Pirates family. The staff, technical team, medical staff, board members, management, and players. I couldn’t have asked for a better working environment than this. It’s been a fantastic, action-packed four years of my journey,” Ofori shared.
As he prepares for this new chapter at AmaZulu FC, Ofori takes with him a wealth of experience, having proven his worth at both club and national levels.
