Former Asante Kotoko captain and ex-captain of Ghana’s Black Meteors, Amos Frimpong, believes that the team can defeat Guinea and qualify for the next stage. He asserts that the Guineans hold Ghanaian football in high regard and feel intimidated whenever they face Ghanaian teams.
Frimpong suggests that Ghana should take advantage of this respect and fear by scoring an early goal against Guinea. This will demonstrate Ghana’s superiority and make it difficult for Guinea if they manage to score first.
In their opening match, Ghana secured a 3-2 victory over Congo but suffered a 5-1 loss against the host nation, Morocco, in their second game. A win against Guinea in their third game would secure Ghana a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.
Amos Frimpong, who currently plays for Guinea’s C I Kamsar, made these statements during an interview with Kumasi-based Ezra FM and TV.
