Andriy Lunin is reportedly close to joining Chelsea, as per Onda Cero’s Alberto Pereiro. Despite an impressive campaign last season, Real Madrid is prepared to let the Ukrainian goalkeeper go, continuing their reliance on Thibaut Courtois and potentially bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga if Lunin departs.
Lunin was a standout performer for the Whites, helping Carlo Ancelotti’s team reach the Champions League final and stepping up in La Liga when needed.
In a recent interview, Lunin expressed his desire to stay in Madrid but emphasized his need for regular playing time—a challenge with Courtois as the club’s primary goalkeeper.

“Obviously [I want to stay]. But well, the only thing I can say is that everything went well with Madrid and now it’s in Madrid’s hands. That’s what I can say about my future,” Lunin stated.
While clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool have shown interest, it now appears that Lunin could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
This move is unexpected given Chelsea’s current goalkeeping options, but with Real Madrid eyeing Kepa as a possible replacement, a swap deal could be in the works.
