A team of former Black Stars players was at the family house of late footballer Christian Atsu on Tuesday 21st February 2023 to commiserate with them.
Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan, Haminu Dramani, Sulley Muntari and Emmanuel Agyemang proceeded to sign Astu’s book of condolence after greeting the family.
On 18th February the untimely death of the Christian Atsu was announced after he was found and confirmed dead by his agent.
Government, military, the clergy and the press was at the Kotoka international Airport to receive the mortal remains of Christian Atsu on 19th February 2023.
Christian Astu died tragically during the earthquake in Turkey. He rose to prominence at FC Porto as a youngster and went on to play for Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth, Malaga, Vitesse Arnhem, Newcastle and Turkish club Hatayspor.
At national team level Atsu earned his first call up to the Black Stars in 2012. His highest moment was winning the best player at the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
