Ghana Premier League side, Asante Kotoko have confirmed defender Esmat Abdalhamid Hassabalbagi is set to to be out for an extended period after undergoing successful foot surgery for an injury suffered in their last league game against Young Apostles.
The left-back will miss the game against Berekum Chelsea this weekend.
The Sudanese left-back sustained the injury during the club’s recent Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles.
Initially thought to be a minor knock, further assessments by Kotoko’s medical team in Kumasi revealed the need for surgical intervention.
With Hassabalbagi expected to be out for over a month, Asante Kotoko will have to adjust their defensive lineup as they prepare for their upcoming match against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park this Sunday in match week 4 of the Ghana Premier League.
