Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have appointed midfielder Richard Boadu as new captain of the club.
These changes emerge after Ganiu Abdul who is captain of the side was rumoured he wants terminate his contract.
Boadu, who has exhibited glimpses of leadership prowess in last seasons, has earned the trust of the club’s leadership.
Boadu will be assisted by defender Yussif Mubarik , Danlad Ibrahim, Christopher Nettey and Pouaty Denduom for the upcoming season.
Mubarik gets the nod as the first deputy with Danlad Ibrahim picking the slot of the second deputy for his effort.
The players is expected to play a starring role for Asante Kotoko in the 2022/23 season.
Asante Kotoko signed 11 new players for the upcoming season largely dominated by teen sensations.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors is in Sudan for pre-season as part of the preparation for the upcoming season.
The 2022/23 football season has been scheduled to kick off on September 9.
