Kumasi Asante Kotoko youth development coach, George Asare has disclosed that about ten players will be dismissed from the club’s youth setup.
With the club hoping to nurture young talents to feed the Porcupine’s senior team, a five-day-justify-your-inclusion exercise was organized in November last year with a total of 50 players being selected in the process.
George Asare revealed in an interview with Kotoko Express App that some of the players who were picked from the exercise had failed to give out their correct ages.
“We were able to get the correct ages and the quality that we wanted from the justifier,” he said.
“However, we did some background checks on them with the help of Deputy Accounts Officer, Richard Akoto and found that about seven to 10 of the players we were looking up to did not give us their correct ages.”
He added, “We are going to keep the others and then move to the JHS and SHS for more talents. I have started talking to the schools. The players we will get from the JHS will go to the U15 while the SHS players will go to the U19.”
