Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari received positive praise from Austin FC coach Josh Wolff after a promising debut for the club on July 21.
Bukari, who recently joined Austin from Red Star Belgrade, started the match against Charlotte FC and played for 58 minutes despite missing out on preseason training.
Wolff highlighted Bukari’s immediate impact in the 2-2 draw, praising his ability to “unbalance” the opposition. “He gave some change of speed, he certainly got around the corner a couple of times,” Wolff said in a post-game press conference. “The more he gets familiar with the group and the more the group gets familiar with him and kind of his unique qualities, the better it will be.”
Despite the lack of preseason training, Bukari impressed the coach with his skillset. “All in all I thought he did well,” Wolff concluded.
Bukari’s performance suggests he could be a key contributor for Austin FC moving forward. The winger is expected to feature in the team’s next game on July 27 in the Leagues Cup, where he’ll have another opportunity to showcase his talent and build chemistry with his teammates
