Copper Queens skipper Barbara Banda has charged that her side lives for big games and are eager to put up an impressive show when they face South Africa in an international friendly on Saturday.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics record setter said since resuming training last month, the Copper Queens have been working hard and have set their eyes on qualifying to the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) to be held in Morocco.
Saturday’s friendly against Banyana Banyana is a chance for the Copper Queens to show their willingness to qualify ahead of next Wednesday’s AWCON final round, first leg qualifier against Namibia.
“It will be a battle because we have always enjoyed playing big games such as playing against South Africa, we won’t take it lightly,” Banda said.
“We have introduced a lot of junior players so they have to learn from me and I just have to put up my hard work that I always do for them to learn something from me,” Banda said.
The China-based striker called on fans to rally behind the Copper Queens in the games against South Africa and Namibia.
