The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has imposed a fine of GHC 3,000 on Bechem United due to misconduct during their Ghana Premier League match-day 2 fixture against Aduana Stars.
The match, which ended in a goalless draw, was marred by chaotic scenes post-game, as home fans expressed their displeasure with the officiating decisions. Tensions escalated, with some fans attempting to confront the match officials.
According to the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, Bechem United failed to ensure the safety of the referees, leading to the financial penalty.
The team’s performance this season has not been particularly impressive, with their record reflecting two draws, one win, and one loss after four matches.
They struggled in their opening three games without a win but finally secured their first victory over Dreams FC last weekend, aided by an own goal.
Looking ahead, Bechem United will face Bibiani Goldstars in their next match on Sunday, October 6, in what promises to be an exciting encounter at Dun’s Park.
The team will be eager to build on their recent success and improve their standings in the league.
