Al Ahly defender Badr Benoun has commented on his objectives during his time at the Red Devils following their away victory in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Nigerien side Sonidep
Benoun moved from Raja Casablanca to Al Ahly on a four-year contract in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has made an instant impact since his arrival as he started in Al Ahly’s win over Tala’a El-Gaish in the Egypt Cup final earlier in December, and he has been a fixed starter ever since.
Benoun latest start was with Al Ahly in their narrow 1-0 away win over AS Sonidep in the round of 32 of the Champions League.
“The opposition’s players depended on tough challenges and few of our players were almost injured due to that and the abysmal pitch condition,” Benoun told Al Ahly official website.
“Al Ahly’s ambition is to defend the Champions League title and achieve the 10th title. Every team fights to achieve a positive result against the title holder, what makes our job harder.”
“However our focus and hard work are our weapons to win and make the fans happy. Al Ahly knows nothing but victories and I like this a lot, I fight to be at my best especially with the big competition with the great players we got in the team.”
“My ambitions with Al Ahly have no boundaries. I aim to win titles and achievements possible. I am used to winning trophies since my time at Raja Club Athletic,” he added.
Al Ahly are set to resume the Egyptian Premier League action on Monday when they face Ittihad of Alexandria in the third round.
