Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey got Ludogorets Razgrad off to a flying start in their UEFA Champions League qualifier first leg against Dinamo Batumi.
The 26-year-old’s strike in the 13th minute, his first goal for the 2024/25 season, set the tone for a dominant performance by the Bulgarian side.
Ludogorets doubled their lead through Rick Lima in the 24th minute before Dinamo Batumi threatened a comeback with a goal from Vladimer Mamuchashvili in the 62nd minute.
However, Aslak Witry restored Ludogorets’ two-goal advantage ten minutes later, securing a crucial 3-1 victory for the Bulgarian champions.
Bernard Tekpetey impressed throughout his 68 minutes on the pitch, earning a match-high rating of 8.0 from Flashscore before being substituted by Caio Vidal. This strong performance continues Tekpetey’s good form for Ludogorets, solidifying his position as a key player for the team.
With this win, Ludogorets travel to Georgia for the return leg on July 17th in a commanding position. The winner of the two-legged tie will progress to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, edging closer to a coveted spot in the group stages.
