Black Maidens coach names final squad for WAFU Zone B U-17 Girls Cup

Joe Nana Adarkwa, head coach of Ghana’s Black Maidens, has announced his final 20-player squad for the maiden WAFU Zone B U-17 Girls Cup.

The tournament kicks off on Thursday, December 12, at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence (GSCE), with Ghana placed in Group A alongside Benin, following Burkina Faso’s withdrawal.

The squad is highlighted by Rootz Sistaz midfield star Christiana Ashiaku, who captured attention with her stellar performances at the recent CAF Schools Championship in Niger, where she claimed the top scorer and best player accolades.

The team enters the competition in strong form, having remained unbeaten in three pre-tournament friendlies against Rootz Sistaz, FC Epiphany Warriors, and Sissamba Ladies.

The Black Maidens will aim to capitalize on their preparation and home advantage as they compete for the championship in this inaugural regional tournament.
