Black Starlets win inaugural UEFA U-16 development tournament in Serbia

Black Starlets emerged victorious in the inaugural UEFA U-16 Development Tournament held in Serbia, after an impressive run that saw them finish the competition winning every single match.

The team led by Karim Zito with support from assistant coach Laryea Kingson, begun the tourney with a resounding 4-0 victory over Serbia in their opening game.

They followed up with a hard-fought win against Spain before ultimately overcoming Switzerland side to clinch the title on Tuesday.

Ghana had to dig deep against the Swiss, who proved to be a formidable opponent. However, two goals from Ramsey Asumadu and one from Bossman Debrah were enough to secure a narrow 3-2 victory for the Black Starlets.

Former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac was at the stadium to support the Black Starlets in the game against Switzerland.

The team’s success in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament is massive for the confidence of the upcoming talent and also giving Ghana surety that all hope is not lost when it comes to the Black Starlets.

With the WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations on the horizon, the Black Starlets will be looking to build on their recent triumph and continue their winning ways.
