Ashanti Gold will be demoted to division 2 after being found guilty of match manipulation against inter Allies .
OFFICIALS of the club and players who participated in the above mentioned match have also been sanctioned by the DC.
That at the end of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, Ashantigold SC shall be demoted to the Division Two League in accordance with Article 6(3)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019,” part of the ruling read.
“That a fine of GHc100,000.00 is imposed on Ashantigold SC in accordance with Article 6(1)(c) and Article 6(4) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019.
Inter Allies defender Hashim Musah has claimed he scored two deliberate own goals in an attempt to foil an alleged match-fixing plot in their match against AshantiGold- and even insisted his team congratulated him for spoiling the ‘pre-agreed’ scoreline.
Musah came on for Inter Allies against Ashanti Gold with the score at 5-0 and scored two own goals in the final 12 minutes before being subbed off as the match finished 7-0 on the final day of the season last season.
