Breezy Asante Kotoko too energetic to Bechem United – Match Summary

Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the second time running had captilised on the little errors of Bechem United to have come victors in their matchday two of the ongoing Ghana premier league 2021/22 season in the dieing embers of the game as happened last week at the Accra sports stadium when they played quest to Dreams FC.

Patrick Kojo Asmah unfortunately had to make way for Imoro Ibrahim on the 33′ minutes in the first half after going down with injury as the first stage of the encounter ended in a goaless stalemate where at some point in time Bechem United could control the game for a while and perhaps Kotoko also dictate the pace of the game making it a din don battle as of the first 45′ minutes.

Apparently, the best chance in the half fell the way of Stephen Amankona which could have seen him kissed the back of the net for the Porcupines but unfortunately could not broke the virginity of the game even though Razak Abelora on one – two occasions showed great piece of goalkeeping to have denied Bechem with a lead.

Kotoko started very well in the second half where in the early stages were Fabio Gama with Mudasiru who played one two passes but getting to the final third, Richmond Lamptey fired wide which came as off target.

Little over 53′ minutes into the second half, coach Prosper Nartey Ogum, in dire need of goals made two substitution at a go where Stephen Amankona was substituted for Richard Boadu Agardas as well as Joseph Amoako to Isaac Oppong whiles Clinton Duodu on the part of Bechem was sacrificed for Denis Mosapa.

The Cameroonian import George Mfege finally got his debut game for the warriors after Fabio Gama made way for him on the 81’minutes when Kotoko were a bit sluggish upfront and perhaps little after his inclusion, Kotoko were awarded a penalty after a player had gone down in the eighteen yard which Abdul Ganiyu Ishmael converted home beautifully making it 1-0 for Kotoko as of 83′ minutes.

Bechem United, despite going down, throwed more men upfront in their quest to have gotten the equalizer where the likes of Samuel Osei Kuffor and Denis Mosapa, Augustine Okrah did everything humanly possible but to no avail through which they were punish for the second goal when they have lost concentration leading to Imoro Ibrahim picking Samuel Boateng in their final third with a perfect cross on the 90+4 minutes and he sloted home perfectly to make it 2-0 for Kotoko.

Refree blowned his final whistle to draw the curtains down from the Baba Yara sports stadium thus making Kotoko to maintain their winning streak with two out of two wins so far in the Ghana premier league.
