Ex Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has stated that Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor should not hesitate to recall midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng when he fe feels his presence will help his squad achieve his target.
Boateng recently revealed in an Instagram Live interview with his Jerome Boateng that he still has unfinished business with the Black Stars.
“With the national team, I didn’t like the way it ended because they gave me so much. But you never know, maybe I can go back and play one more time again,” said the Besiktas star.
Meanwhile, Kingston who played for the Black Stars between 2002 to 2010 insists Boateng’s return can only be determined by C.K Akonnor, and wants the decision made based on the player’s performance.
“Kevin-Prince Boateng is still a Ghanaian. He still has a lot of respect for his country despite the issues that happened in the Black Stars,” he said.
“I think if the coach believes that Boateng has something to help him and he is performing then [he can call him]. What I want to see is players picked if they are doing well for their clubs.”
Boateng was sacked from camp in 2014 following an alleged indiscipline act during the world cup in Brazil.
