1. Accra Hearts of Oak is the longest existing club in Ghana. Excelsior was the first Ghanaian club to be formed in 1903. Other clubs were formed before Hearts but could not stand the test of time. Hearts was formed on 11/11/1911
2. Hearts is the only Ghanaian club to have appeared on CNN/World Soccer Weekly Chart on 12th February, 2001. Hearts was rated the 8th best team in the world after beating Zamalek to win the CAF Super Cup.
3. Hearts won the first ever league in Ghana in 1956.
4. Hearts is the only Ghanaian club to win three (3) different Continental titles (CAF Champions’ League in 2000, CAF Super Cup in 2001 and CAF Confederation Cup in 2004).
5. Hearts is the first club to win the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating their bitterest rival, Asante Kotoko in the finals in 2004.
6. Hearts inspired the formation of their bitterest rival, Asante Kotoko. Driver Kwasi Kumah, after watching Hearts beat Accra Standfast by 2:1, was thrilled with the team in the Rainbow colours and formed Kumasi Rainbow FC with his electrician friend, Yaw Amponsah. Kumasi Rainbow became Asante Kotoko.
7. Hearts holds an infamous record of being the first African club to finish CAF Champions’ League group stage without scoring a goal in 2006.
8. Hearts is the only club in the Ghanaian football history to have gone unbeaten in a whole season, but failed to clinch the league title.
