Chelsea return to winning ways after 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace

Chelsea Fc returned to winning ways in the English Premier League after an impressive 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace with Kai Havertz grabbing the match winner.

The game begun with Palace getting close to breaking the deadlock after Tyrick Mitchell’s left footed shot was saved by Kepa at close range.

Michael Olise also threatened the Chelsea defense with a wonderful shot outside the box yet his effort was saved by Chelsea shot stopper Kepa.

Chelsea also came close to opening the scoring through Kai Havertz yet the German’s header was slightly high off the goal.

Hakim Ziyech and Jeffrey Schlupp came close to scoring for Chelsea and Palace respectively before halftime yet were both denied going into the break.

However, in the second half, Kai Havertz placed the Blues in front after a delightful cross from Hakim Ziyech and the German’s header found the bottom corner of the goal.

Palace looked to restore parity yet failed to do so despite Doucoure’s 86 minute shot and Wilfred Zaha’s efforts in the dying minutes of the game.

Chelsea remain in 10th place and are ten points off the top four places on the Premier League table.
