Chelsea vs Liverpool: Match Preview

It’s early days yet in the English Premier League but match day 1 already has started giving us some glimpses of how the season is going to be.

The two English sides will make an effort to move past their lacklustre top-flight performances from the previous campaign and establish a more formidable bid for at least a top-four finish this time around.

 

London club Chelsea will take on Liverpool at home today later in the afternoon.

A match many fans around the globe are highly anticipating for. Well it’s a new season and fans of both clubs are aiming their teams when this showpiece.

It’s a new team all together for the blues as their new head coach has assembled a new squad through a rebuild for the London Club.

For Klopp, things will not change much in his line up but a new midfield is set to compete with Chelsea for the first time in many years.

The match promises to be very entertaining and competitive as well.

We will see how things go when the two sides meet.

Chelsea:

Nico Jackson is set to make his debut for the club and he has been tremendous so far in the preseason games he has played for Chelsea.

There’s a little bit of uncertainty around Christopher Nkunku featuring in this game.

Wesley Fofana and summer addition Christopher Nkunku are both sidelined for several months with knee injuries, dealing Chelsea a double injury blow ahead of the new season.

Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, and Armando Broja did not play in any preseason games owing to hamstring injuries, but now that they have resumed training, they could be included in Pochettino’s matchday squad.

Liverpool:

Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszla  are both expected to make their debut in their new club whilst Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are still recovering from their injuries respectively.

All other players are fit and expected to be included in the match day squad for both teams.
