Chelsea woes continue after 2-1 defeat to Fulham

Chelsea fell to a 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Thursday night in the Premier League with new signing Joao Felix sent off in the second half of the game.

It was Potter’s men who begun the game positively after a wonderful run by Joao Felix on the right flank of the Chelsea attack yet his cross into the box could not be finished off by Kai Havertz.

Minutes after, former Chelsea winger Willian gained possession on the edge of the box and curled it beautifully.

The shot took a deflection off Koulibali and found the back of the net to give Fulham the lead on the night going into the break.

However, the second half saw Redemption for the Senegal skipper as he restored parity for the Blues from a set piece delivered by Mason Mount in the early minutes of the second half.

A nerve wracking moment arrived for the Blues which saw Koulibali’s heavy pass poorly controlled by Joao Felix and as the Portuguese looked to slide to regain possession for Chelsea, he found himself with a dangerous tackle that had him sent off after 58 minutes.

Chelsea failed to take advantage of their opportunities despite being a man down and Fulham always knew that final chance would arrive knowing the extra man would definitely pay off.

Fulham went to take the lead in the closing minutes of the game through Carlo Vinicius with the Chelsea defense having no answers to Fulham’s attack.

Chelsea remain in 10th place on the Premier League table with Fulham bursting forth into the top six.
