Captain for Sekondi Hasaacas has revealed that Covid-19 has had a major influence on their quest to booking a place in Ghana’s top flight league.
All Football Competitions has been suspended following the President’s directives to place ban on all social gatherings.
Speaking in an interview with Skyy Power FM, Abeiku Ainooson spoke about the economic struggles players are going through and how the pandemic has affected Hasaacas’ chances of booking a place in topflight football.
“It has really affected us, it’s not been easy.
“What really pains me is (it has affected) our premier league ambition.
“When you look at the players we recruited, the likes of Samuel Afful (Okocha), Sampson Eduku, Theophilus Nyame, Nana Awotwe and others, the form we picked and how determined we were to bring Hasaacas back to the premier league, then the COVID-19 has brought this, that is what pains me.
“But on the part of players too, I think it has affected us, economically it has cost us. Even when we were playing things weren’t good and now that we aren’t playing, it is worse. Everything is in jeopardy
Abeiku Ainooson won four Man of the Match Awards with Hasaacas lying 3rd on the log after 14 games played.
