Covid-19:Jonathan Mensah Foundation and One Ghana Volunteers educates and donates to traders in Ashaiman-Accra

It was all about the education on the deadly virus known as covd-19 (corona virus) on Saturday 21st March 2020 at the Ashaiamaan market in Accra as Dr. Vanessa Kabu of West Africa Rescue Association and sports journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, led the One Ghana volunteers on an education, awareness and donation exercise there.

The team with the support of medical supervisors made sure an education and awareness of covid-19(corona virus) was done within the strictest healthy and safety guidelines given by the health service and government.

In speaking to the traders, Dr.Kabu Mensah said all must adhere to the measures in preventing the spread of covid-19(corona virus) as anyone can be at risk.

“We must remember that first and foremost, we must stay safe even though we can’t paint a false rosy picture just because we don’t want to cause fear and panic”.

She also added the education and awareness on the covid-19(corona virus) shouldn’t be a one day thing but consistent.

“The truth is, we must educate ourselves with all the relevant information we get and be on the highest alert especially as this virus has killed over 400 people in one day elsewhere”.

Ghana beach soccer president, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah also added a bit to the awareness part as he advised the market women in as much as they are not vibrant on social media, they should be watching television for more education covid-19(corona virus).

The MLS players, Johnathan Mensah, David Accam and Harrison Afful together, donated a set of items in helping to reduce the risk of contracting covid-19(corona virus) to traders of Ashaiman market in Accra.

In attendance at the event, was Ashaiman municipal education sports coordinator Edem Dela and Ashaiman Mediacal Polyclinic nurse Miss Esther Holdrook Smith.
