Following their defeat against Real Tamale United on Sunday, interim coach of Hearts of Oak, David Ocloo, acknowledges the frustrations expressed by the fans.
The Phobians experienced a 2-1 loss in their matchday 33 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts took the lead with Linda Mtange’s goal in the 35th minute, but Abdul Manaf Umar swiftly equalized for Real Tamale United after halftime. Stephen Badu Dankwah then scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute.
The Phobians now find themselves in a relegation battle, sitting 11th in the league standings with 45 points. Their upcoming away match against Berekum Chelsea is crucial and must be won.
Ocloo, who has only managed to secure one victory in his last seven matches as coach, understands the dissatisfaction among the fans. In an interview with StarTimes after the game, he acknowledged the fans’ right to express their frustration but also urged them to consider the fact that he inherited a team with depleted resources.
“They are right to be furious and say whatever they want but they shouldn’t forget this is a depleted side I met,” he told StarTimes after the game.
“So, they should know how to talk,” he added.
