Delayed Turkey trip: Kotoko resort to playing a 4 mini-tournament?

According to the local media in Kumasi, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have resolved to resort to a 4 mini-tournament after their scheduled trip to Turkey is delayed.

The Kumasi-based football club were set to depart from Ghana on Sunday 14th August 2022 to Turkey for their pre-season campaign in the European country but due to challenges in Visa acquisition, the team is still in Accra as of Tuesday 16th August 2022.

Asante Kotoko who represents Ghana in the upcoming CAF champions league have a little over 5 weeks to prepare for the elite competition.

Sources are the club say, the management of the club are contemplating resorting to playing a four mini-tournament to have a proper taste of competitive football before the season commences.

Kotoko pulled out of this year’s GHALCA top 6 competition and has been replaced by Berekum Chelsea.

The club said their decision was purely on sporting grounds.
