In most situations when players travel abroad and back, they turn to their former clubs for much playing time and possibly, land another career changing deal. Former Hearts Of Oak captain, Thomas Abbey’s current situation is not different as the midfielder is willing to play for the club but with a good offer.
“I am a free agent now and ready to sign for hearts of oak if only they give me good offer, why not, football is my job.
If only they will sit down with me and offer me something good I will sign for them.”, Thomas Abbey told Angel TV.
Meanwhile, Abbey before exiting Accra Hearts Of Oak sparked doubts over his long term future rejection a long term offer and distancing himself from pre-season training citing that he was unhappy with the financial terms in the contract.
Abbey scored 13 goals in the 2016/17 season before his departure but fans regard him as a “betrayal” leaving as a free agent without the club benefitting.
According to the supports, the club gave Abbey a stepping stone in his career but turned “ungrateful” when the light began to shine on him.
