Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Clottey has been fined $1000 by the world football governing body (FIFA) after he was found guilty of breaking transfer rules in the move that landed him at Kotoko.
FIFA revealed in a statement on Friday that Clottey will face punishment for the delay in resolving the issue.
Clottey has until 17th May to settle the fine.
The statement read as follows:
“Debtor I (Emmanuel Clottey) is ordered to pay a fine of CHF 1,000. The fine is to be paid within 30 days of notification of the present decision.”
Emmanuel Clottey signed a deal with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2015 while he was still under contract with Tunisian side Esperance.
