Ex-Hearts defender, leaves Ghana to sign a deal in Iraq

Former Accra Hearts of oak defender Nuru Sulley has left the shores of Ghana this afternoon to sign a bumper deal with Iraqi top flight, Douhoc Sporting Club.

Nana Kwarteng, CEO of Sports Light Consult broke the deal for the strong tower Ghanaian defender Nuru Sulley will join his team-mate Emmanuel Nettey in the same team Douhoc Sporting club in the Iraqi League.

The experienced central defender made 16 appearances for the Phobians last season, helping them to win the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup and a left the club a few weeks ago.

Sulley ended his first stints with the Ghanaian giants in July 2011 where he was transferred to Libyan top-flight side Al Nasr Benghazi.

He went ahead to play for Al Ittihad Tripoli and Egyptian side Talea’a El Gaish before moving to Turkish club Alanyaspor.

Few months ago Iraqi club Erbil Sports Club announced the signing of Sulley but the deal didn’t materialise.
