The recent Ghana Football Association (GFA) legacy debt report has revealed each called up member of the Black Stars still receives $10,000 as winning bonus instead of $5,000.
There were reports that the winning bonus had been reviewed to $10,000 during the Egypt 2019, though the players were taking $5,000 in Gabon 2017, but Deputy Sports Minister, Perry Okudzeto said the reports were false.
“We have not increased or slashed the winning bonus for the Black Stars players. The winning bonus is still $5000,” he said at the time.
The GFA legacy debt document has however exposed the claims by the Minister as the document shows that the winning bonus for the team for the 2021 AFCON Qualifier was $10,000.
The document further reveals that former Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah was also on a salary of $35,000 per month, and winning $20,000, and is been owed by the GFA of four months’ salaries.
