Kumasi base King Faisal, suprisingly, yesterday all the way at Dorma Nana Agyeman Badu I park in their matchday two of the ongoing Ghana premier league, were 3-1 victors to home side Aduana stars.
Interestingly, doing so, makes it the second time ever the Inshallah club have won their first opening two games in the Ghana premier league and perhaps the first time to have beaten Aduana stars away from home.
First of such an incredible feet came back in 2004 when the football govering body outlined a Novelty league for clubs as part of preparations of teams who were to represent the country interms of Africa competition, which King Faisal themselves had the opportunity to play in the Caf Confedration cup that year.
Reminiscing the novelty league back in 2004, prior to week two in which Alhaji Gurusah’s base were billed to host Berekum Arsenal at home, they first emerged 2-0 victors away to Real Tamale United in their opening encounter when good old Abubakar Yahuza did netted a brace on the said day.
Apparently, infront of their evergreen supporters in week number two, they managed to thump Berekum Arsenal by 2-1, thankful champion Godwin Ablordey and Ishak Debrah goals.
Eventually, in 2021/22 season which climax the second time of such an awesome acheivement, they ‘ King Faisal started their campaign first from the Baba Yara sports stadium where a last minute goal courtesy strike by Zuberu Ibrahim was enough to ease pass West African football academy.
Two goals from Asante Kotoko’s loanee Osman Ibrahim coupled with a strike from Latif Mohammed ensured Aduana stars becomes the latest club with defeat to King Faisal enroute to their plausible mark.
Second on the league log with six points, Kumasi base King Faisal will host Obuasi Ashanti Gold to the Baba Yara sports stadium in week three of the current Ghana premier league.
