FIFA 2022 WORLD CUP: Morocco’s Yassine Bounou eyes Golden glove award

Morocco and Sevilla shot stopper Yassine Bounou has stamped his name in the World Cup historic books after conceding just a goal at the Mondial this year and keeping four clean sheets ahead of the second semi final against France.

The shot stopper of the Atlas Lions will be remembered for his stellar performance in the Round of 16 penalty shootouts against 2010 winners Spain as Morocco marched on to the quarter finals to make history.

Morocco have conceded just a goal at this year’s Mondial and have managed to keep cleansheets against Croatia, Belgium, Spain and Portugal in what has been an absolutely incredible performance by Walid Regragui’s men.

Bounou faces La Liga counterparts Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele who like Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe, remain crucial to this French side’s unstoppable attack.

Moreover, Bounou looks so composed in goal and has an ever resilient Morocco midfield and defense shielding his area ahead of this huge test against France.
