“While I was admitted at Clinique Fouda, I heard a knock on my door a certain night around 11:30. I asked who it was and a voice said ‘Coach, it’s me Eto’o’. I asked him to come in and when he did, I was shocked it was actually Eto’o.
He proceeded to ask me what the problem was and I explained. Immediately, he called one of his close aides and instructed him to prepare all my papers and evacuate me to the best hospital in France in not more than 10 days from then. He instructed that inquiries be made to get the best hospital in Paris and the best specialists to take care of me.
In the days that followed, I was evacuated to France, taken to the best hospital in Paris and assigned to the best specialist of my choice. That’s how I recovered.
What impressed most is that I did not even inform him that I was ill or solicit his help. He only got the news of my illness as every other Cameroonian did, and he came to my rescue as his former coach,” the former national team coach said on Equinox TV.
