France Head Coach Didier Descamps has extended his contact with Les Bleus for three years until 2026 according to the French Football Federation.
The contract extension will bring the 1998 and 2018 World Cup winner to 14 years as Head Coach of France heading into the next European Cup and World Cup.
Deschamps led France to the 2016 European Cup final and despite losing to Portugal, France bounced back to win the World Cup in 2018 and finished runners up at last year’s Mondial.
The deal was announced during the assembly of the French Football Federation in Paris as the veteran manager looks to continue his task since his start in 2012.
“I obviously thank the president for his ongoing support and his continued confidence,’ Deschamps said, according to Le Parisien.
It’s something essential in the functioning of the French team.
I realised since my return the emotions and the passion that this World Cup had been able to generate”.
