Following Ghana’s disappointing exit from the on-going 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku made a strong statement, promising swift action to fix the issues plaguing the Black Stars team.
Addressing the media alongside the GFA Executive Council, President Okraku acknowledged the shared disappointment following the team’s early elimination. He emphasized the GFA’s commitment to “addressing the issues surrounding the Black Stars,” highlighting their active search for a new coach after Chris Hughton’s departure.
“We love our Black Stars, and the players love all Ghanaians. We are fully committed to addressing the issues surrounding the Black Stars. This commitment has already begun, with the GFA actively seeking a new trainer for the team.” President Okraku stated
The GFA President stressed the need for unity and collaboration: “We are servant, and we cannot do it alone. We need all stakeholders to support us in bringing the love back. In good times and bad times, we must stand behind our players and refrain from dampening their spirits or love for the team,”
