Ghana finds itself in Group F for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers, hoping to return to their winning ways.
The four-time champions, nicknamed the “Black Stars,” will face off against Angola, Sudan, and Niger in their group. This news comes after the official draw held in Johannesburg on July 4th, 2024.
While Ghana boasts a prestigious AFCON history, claiming their last victory in Libya back in 1982, recent performances have fallen short. The Black Stars exited the group stage in both the 2019 and 2023 tournaments, leaving fans hungry for a return to form.
The west African nation will be looking to capitalize on their experience and Ghana’s strong footballing tradition to secure qualification. The qualifiers are scheduled to kick off in September of this year, paving the way for the highly anticipated AFCON 2025.
Morocco will host the tournament from December 21st, 2025, to January 18th, 2026. Can Ghana return to the AFCON summit and claim their fifth title? Only time will tell, but the Black Stars’ journey begins in September.
