One of Asamoah Gyan’s regret as Black Stars player and captain will be the luck of silverware with the team especially the Africa Cup Of Nations trophy.
However, Gyan believes the involvement of politics in the came is one main reason the trophy has eluded Ghana in recent years.
Gyan also made mention of individual mentalities when approaching such tournaments. In a twitter live interview with TV3, Gyan said:
“We can win if we have the. Football is a collective job. One person might go in with a positive mindset, and the other with a negative one. This is where the problem is, “
“We need the support of Ghanaians but most importantly politics out of the game.
“For recent years there has been a lot of politics in the game, which is not good. We have to do away with that if not it”s going to be the same. That’s my honest truth.”
Gyan served as the General Captain of the Black Stars during Ghana’s last AFCON in Egypt and got eliminated by Tunisia in the Round of 26 stages.
