Ghana secures qualification to 2023 African Cup of Nations

Ghana faced Central African Republic on Thursday evening for the crucial encounter in the 2023 AFCON Qualifier.

The match was highly competitive as both teams knew what was at stake. The Central African Republicans were very delightful to watch as we saw how determined they were to win this encounter.

They got the first goal of the game but Ghana quickly responded with an instrumental free kick from West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.

Many believe Kudus’ goal was a bit of luck as the Central  African Republicans goalkeeper made an error with his steps and save in the goal post.

In the first half , Ghana lacked some sense of urgency in how they were pressing and the team also lacked some sharpness and effectiveness upfront.

Chance creation was a problem for Ghana. They team lacked a midfielder who could link up plays from defense to attack.

But in the second half things changed as Coach Hughton made some changes to the squad that started, bringing on Antoine Semenyo and Ernest Nuamah Appiah.

The pair combined to give Ghana the lead and sealed the victory for the Black Stars.

The unbeaten record at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium still remains and the lads upped their game in the dying minutes of the game to secure all three points.

Ghana will face Liberia on Tuesday,12 September in a friendly encounter.
