PREVIEW :

In a penaltimate group round of matches, the black stars of Ghana takes on the Bafana Bafana of south Africa today at the Cape Coast sports stadium in a make or break tie ahead of Qatar 2022 World cup qualifiers.

Ghana, second in group G, trails South Africa by three points and they would have to win at all cost in order to qualify to the next round of the competition.

South Africa, on the other half would need just a point to get them through to the next stage of the competition having won 1-0 to Zimbabwe in their last group game whilles the stars were held to a 1-1 draw with the Walias Ibex of Ethiopia.

South Africa were 1-0 victors over the stars in the riverse fixture back at the FNB stadium.

Looking for an exact revenge, the senior national team of Ghana, looks clear the favorite to come victorious especially given that, they are yet to loose a game at the Cape Coast sports stadium since 2019 and that makes it a tideous one for Hugo Bross and his charge picking a point from today’s hurdle.

Meeting on a record 16 times since 1994, the Black stars of Ghana, had to wait for their first ever win over the south africans in 2004 and in 2005 where they recorded 3-0 and a 2-0 back to back wins over the Bafana Bafana’s even though in 1994, they trailed by 2-1 and for a consecutive time in 1996, they were marshalled by 3-0.

TEAM NEWS – GHANA

Andrew Dede Ayew, should he be given the nod to play by head coach Milovan Rajevac, would be making his 100 cap for the nation.

Alexander Djiku, after missing the Ethiopian game through to injury is back to make the central pair with Lesceister cities Daniel Amartey since in his absence, Joseph Addo could not impress soo much in the Walias game.

Arsenals mildfield commander, Thomas Teye Partey would still be missing out on this particular encounter given his injury making him absent in the Ethiopia encounter.

TEAM NEWS – SOUTH AFRICA

With no injury woes for the south africans, it’s most likely for Hugo Bross to field the same starting lineup that played against the Zimbabweans in their last group game which Bongokuhle Hlongwane who scored the only goal in that edition, will be looking forward to put up another exquisite performance coming up against the Black stars.

Prediction : Ghana 2-1 South Africa
