Ghanaian defender Patrick Kpozo was instrumental in Banik Ostrava’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Jablonec in the Czech Republic’s  top flight league.

The 26-year-old defender took to Facebook after the match, expressing his delight with a goal and assist: “‘A goal and assist to end the day,’ Kpozo wrote.”

Kpozo’s performance was key for Banik Ostrava. He provided a crucial assist to Jiri Klima, who opened the scoring for the team. Kpozo then went on to score himself, solidifying Banik Ostrava’s lead. Nemanja Tekijaski also got on the scoresheet for Banik Ostrava. Despite goals from Dominik Holly and Michal Cernak for Jablonec, Banik Ostrava held on to secure all three points.

The win keeps Banik Ostrava firmly in the race for European qualification. They currently sit fourth on the league table with 43 points after 27 matches. Their next league encounter comes on April 14 when they face Karvina
