Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban has secured his future with Italian Serie A club Genoa by signing a contract extension. The new deal keeps him at the club until June 2026 with the option for an additional year.
Ekuban’s previous contract was set to expire on June 30, 2024. He joined Genoa in 2021 from Turkish side Trabzonspor. Since his arrival, the 30-year-old has become a valuable asset for Genoa, making 78 appearances across all competitions. He has contributed 8 goals and 7 assists during his tenure.
In the recently concluded 2023/24 Serie A season, Ekuban played a key role in Genoa’s 11th-place finish. He featured in 29 league matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists. Genoa ended the season with 49 points after 38 matches.
Genoa confirmed Ekuban’s extension with a social media post featuring a highlight reel of his goals, accompanied by the message “Eku stays.” The move will be a welcome boost for the club as they look to build on last season’s success.
